OYEREPA: You cannot build your career at the expense of your wife/motherhood duties – Counselor Collins Bonsu

Counselor Collins Bonsu has advised women and wives not to sacrifice their responsibilities at home in the quest to build successful careers.

Speaking on Kessben FM with Rev. Vincent Kankam, Counsellor Bonsu emphasized that while career development is important, it should not overshadow the duties of wifehood and motherhood. He noted that the role women play in nurturing families, supporting spouses, and raising children is vital to the stability of homes and society as a whole.

He clarified that his message was not meant to discourage women from working or pursuing their ambitions, but rather to encourage balance and intentional decision-making. According to him, neglecting family responsibilities in favor of career growth can strain marriages and affect the emotional development of children.

Counsellor Bonsu also called on husbands, employers, and society to support women by creating environments that allow them to balance work and family life effectively. He stressed that mutual understanding, shared responsibilities, and supportive work policies are key to ensuring that women can thrive both at home and in their professional lives.
