Kessben Media Honours Collins Kobby Boadi as Best Broadcast Journalist, 2025

Kessben Media has honoured its outstanding staff at the maiden edition of the Kessben 92.9 Accra Staff Awards, with Presidential Affairs Correspondent Collins Kobby Boadi being adjudged Best Broadcast Journalist of the Year (2025).

Boadi, a reporter with Kessben Media, was recognised for his accuracy, depth and responsible storytelling, qualities the company says have helped inform the public and strengthen trust in journalism.

His commitment to truth, balance and ethical reporting “has elevated the standards of news coverage and inspired confidence across communities,” management noted, adding that the award celebrates his unwavering dedication to giving voice to facts, people and perspectives that matter.

Awards to Motivate Excellence

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager of Kessben Media Accra, Mr. Kojo Preko Dankwa, said the awards seek to motivate hardworking staff and recognise those who make outstanding contributions — including those who often work behind the scenes.

“This award is based on hard-working people, those who really give their all. It shows our appreciation for them,” he said.

“We want every staff member to know that their effort is admired by the company. If anybody is working, they should work wholeheartedly in order to receive the best award.”

Mr. Dankwa noted that all departments were consulted to ensure the selection criteria were fair and evidence-based. He announced that the awards will now be organised every six months to further inspire staff productivity across Accra and beyond.

He also encouraged young and upcoming journalists to uphold integrity, research and diligence, stressing that the foundation of journalism requires hard work and professionalism.

Other Award Winners

Other staff members recognised on the day included:

Administration Department: Emmanuel Larbi — Worker of the Year & Safety and Operations Award

Programmes Department: Richard Aboagye Appiah Sarpong — Morning Show Producer of the Year

Engineering Department: Godfred Ananse — Departmental Award Winner

Social Media & Digital: Richmond Obeng — Social Media Manager of the Year

Call to Protect Journalists

The General Manager also condemned attacks on journalists while on duty, warning that such incidents disrupt their essential public service.

“We call on the general public to work together with journalists and avoid any form of attack so they can serve mother Ghana effectively,” he urged.

He further expressed appreciation to partners and clients for their support throughout the year and called for continued collaboration in 2026, noting that Kessben Media remains committed to creating opportunities for customers and stakeholders.

Some awardees expressed gratitude to management and encouraged colleagues to remain dedicated and committed to their work to build strong professional careers.
