CLOGSAG calls on govt to implement its salary structure to avert industrial action

.The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana [CLOGSAG] has reminded government on the delay in the implementation of its new salary structure and other conditions of service.
The Association said government have failed to respond to their request and efforts have not been done to engage CLOGSAG on salary implementation and other related matters .
CLOGSAG in this regard have thus challenged government to come to the negotiating table to avert any impending industrial action by the staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service.
The Deputy Executive Secretary, of CLOGSAG, Mr. William Kojo Krakani was speaking during the 2025 of the Association Thanksgiving Service in Accra saying, the Association will not relent on it’s effort to get to it’s destination , adding that CLOGSAG is prepared to take that line of action’ ’by calling on its members to embark on strike.
Mr. William Krakani said as far back as the year 2018 , the Association presented it’s salary structure and conditions of services for government approval through their respective Councils as negotiations lead to the signing of two Memorandum of understanding [MOUs] on 19th January, 2022 and 5th of July,2024.
‘’It was agreed that the effective date of implementation would be January ,2025 and government have not made the needed commitment towards the process,’’ the Executive Secretary said.
He however urged members of the Association to remain calm as negotiations continues and used the occasion to wish them Merry Christmas and prosperous new year, during the festive season.
For his part, the Head of the Office of the Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey -Darko applauded Civil and Local Government Service staffs for their patience as salary negotiations and other conditions of service are being understudied by government.
