Meet the SHS Teacher, Samuel Badu Dauda, who uses his salary to buy cement and gravel to fix potholes in Ghana

Samuel Badu Dauda, a Senior High School teacher at Jachie Pramso SHS has taken it upon himself to help fix dangerous potholes on roads in his community, using his own salary.

The teacher shared his story during an interview with KOD on Kessben FM, explaining that his decision was driven by a tragic experience in the Ahafo Ano South West District. According to him, a deep pothole caused a serious road accident, an incident that stayed with him and pushed him to act rather than wait for external help.

Moved by the frequent risks motorists and pedestrians face, he began buying cement and gravel with his own money to fill potholes along affected roads. Though the work is physically demanding and financially draining, the teacher says he believes saving lives and preventing accidents is worth the sacrifice.

His actions have drawn admiration from many who see him as a symbol of selflessness and community leadership. While road maintenance is typically the responsibility of authorities, his effort highlights how ordinary citizens can make a meaningful difference.
