Kpandai Rerun: The Supreme Court suspending the rerun means there is something they might have seen – Charles Owusu Juanah ESQ

Legal practitioner Charles Owusu Juanah, ESQ, has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Kpandai parliamentary election rerun, following the Supreme Court’s decision to suspend the exercise.
Speaking on Kessben FM with KOD, he suggested that the court’s action indicates there may be critical legal issues that require closer examination.
According to Mr. Juanah, the Supreme Court does not lightly intervene in electoral processes, especially at such a sensitive stage. He noted that the suspension of the rerun suggests the justices may have identified substantive legal concerns or procedural irregularities that could significantly affect the outcome of the case. “For the Supreme Court to halt the rerun, it means there is something they might have seen,” he stated.
He explained that the court’s decision underscores the importance of due process and constitutional interpretation in electoral disputes. Rather than rushing into a rerun that could later be nullified, Mr. Juanah believes the Supreme Court is acting to prevent further complications and protect the integrity of Ghana’s democratic system.
