No President will ever dare seek a third term in Ghana – Veteran Broadcaster, Wofa Kofi Appiah
Wofa Kofi Appiah, host of the popular morning Show Kessben Maakye, has expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s democratic system, stating that he does not believe any president will ever attempt to run for a third term.
Speaking on his show, the seasoned broadcaster emphasized that Ghanaians are deeply committed to protecting the integrity of the nation’s two-term presidential limit.
According to Wofa Kofi Appiah, the political consciousness of the Ghanaian public has grown significantly, making it nearly impossible for any leader to undermine the Constitution for personal gain. He argued that citizens, civil society groups, and democratic institutions are more vigilant than ever, and would strongly resist any move to extend presidential tenure beyond the mandated limit.
He added that Ghana’s history of smooth transitions and respect for constitutional norms serves as a clear deterrent to any future leader considering such an attempt. For him, the strength of Ghana’s democracy lies not just in the laws but in the collective will of the people to defend them.
