We did not threaten Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah after he had left Bawumia’s camp – Dr Ayew Afriyie’s camp speaks
Kwaku Attah Sarpong, an aide to Dr. Ayew Afriyie, has firmly denied claims that the Ahafo Ano South West MP, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, was threatened or victimized after distancing himself from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s camp.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Sarpong described the allegations as completely false and misleading. He emphasized that neither he nor anyone on Dr. Afriyie’s team had issued any threats or engaged in acts meant to intimidate the MP. According to him, political realignments are normal and should not be misinterpreted as grounds for hostility.
His comments were in response to an earlier interview in which MP Elvis Dapaah claimed he had been “hated and victimised” following his public statement that he could no longer work with Dr. Bawumia. Sarpong countered this narrative, insisting that Dr. Afriyie continues to uphold principles of respect and unity within the party.
He urged the public to treat the MP’s claims with caution, stressing that disagreements in political preference should not be equated with threats or victimisation.
