Obuasi SWOOP: I captured the name of one of the security officers who treated me inhumanely & will deal with him when NPP returns to power – Dr. Mashood Abongo

Dr. Mashood Abongo who was caught up in a recent joint security swoop in Obuasi, has accused one of the security personnel involved of treating him “inhumanely.”
He adds that he has “captured the name” of the individual, and ominously warns that he will “deal with him when NPP returns to power.”
The swoop, carried out by military and police forces, was part of a coordinated crackdown on illegal mining activities and related attacks, according to official accounts.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) later defended the operation, saying it was necessary in response to rising attacks on personnel from the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS).
Claiming inhumane treatment suggests potential violations of detainees’ rights. If true, this could demand independent investigation.
His threat to “deal with him when NPP returns to power” adds a political dimension. It suggests that his quest for justice may rely on a change of party in government, rather than legal mechanisms now.
