If the NPP were able to implement their one District, One Factory, Ghanaians would not have booted them out – Wofa Kofi Appiah

Co-host of Kessben Maakye on Kessben FM, Wofa Kofi Appiah, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would likely have retained power if they had fully implemented their flagship One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative.
Speaking on the popular morning show, Wofa Kofi Appiah observed that the programme, though ambitious and well-intentioned, did not achieve the widespread impact Ghanaians had hoped for. He argued that the failure to see visible, functioning factories across all districts contributed significantly to voter disappointment and eventual political backlash.
“If the NPP were able to implement their One District, One Factory policy as promised, Ghanaians would not have booted them out,” he remarked, stressing that the policy had the potential to transform the economy by creating jobs and stimulating industrial growth.
According to him, the 1D1F policy could have been a game-changer in addressing unemployment, especially among the youth, and in revitalising local economies across the country.
However, he noted that inadequate execution, bureaucratic delays, and lack of sustained investment undermined its success.
Wofa Kofi Appiah further encouraged the current government to learn from this experience and focus on practical, result-oriented economic programmes that directly improve the lives of citizens rather than grand political slogans.
