Cyber Security Draft Bill: The Cyber Security Law we are amending should be amended rightly to protect our freedom – Dr. Daniel Appiah

Dr. Daniel Appiah, Political Governance and Public Sector Reform Expert at the University of Ghana, Legon, has given his stance on the proposed Cyber Security Draft Bill by the NDC Government.

Speaking on Kessben with Kojo Preko Dankwah, he explained that the opposition NPP passed the Cyber Security Law, Act 2024, but the current NDC government noticed some insecurities in the law and wants to amend it to Cyber Security Draft Bill.

He revealed that some of the laws go against our freedom, claiming the NDC government can not pass a law that will go against media freedom or press freedom.

Dr. Daniel again mentioned that out of 10 people, 7 will agree that the government cannot make a law which will go against our media freedom.

The Cyber Security Law we are amending should be done rightly to protect our freedom.
He urged the Government, Opposition Npp and Experts to come together in ensuring the right thing is done.
