President Mahama Declares Three Days of National Mourning for Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

President John Dramani Mahama has declared three days of national mourning following the passing of Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana.

In a statement issued from the Office of the President, the period of mourning will run from Friday, October 24 to Sunday, October 26, 2025.

During this time, all national flags are to fly at half-mast across public institutions, diplomatic missions, and government installations both in Ghana and abroad.

The declaration, according to the statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, is to honour the memory of the late former First Lady and acknowledge her distinguished service and contributions to national development.

“Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings served Ghana with dedication and commitment, particularly in the areas of women’s empowerment, child welfare, and social development,” the statement noted.

President Mahama and the Government of Ghana have also extended their deepest condolences to the family, her children, and all who mourn her passing.
“May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
