Creeki Community Applauds Hon. Samuel Darkwa’s Commitment to Education”

In a heartwarming display of commitment to education and youth empowerment, the Assembly Member for the Creeki Electoral Area in the Obuasi East Municipality, Hon. Samuel Darkwa, has once again demonstrated his dedication to the academic growth of young people in his community.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Hon. Darkwa put smiles on the faces of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates through a generous donation of essential learning materials.
The short but colorful ceremony, held at the forecourt of the Creeki Community Center, was graced by parents, opinion leaders, and community members, who gathered to witness the thoughtful gesture. The atmosphere was filled with joy, gratitude, and anticipation for the future of the young beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Darkwa noted that the donation was not merely a gift but an investment in the future of the community and the nation at large. He also expressed appreciation to the Maudesther Ofori Foundation for their support in making the initiative a success.
“Our children are our greatest asset. Completing basic school is a significant milestone, and as they prepare to enter Senior High School, we must ensure they do so with confidence and the right tools,” Hon. Darkwa said. “This is our little way of encouraging them to aim higher, study hard, and know that their community is solidly behind them.”
This year, thirteen (13) fresh BECE graduates from the electoral area benefited from the gesture—an increase from three (3) beneficiaries last year. Each student received school bags, notebooks, exercise books, pens, pencils, and a token cash amount to assist with incidental expenses as they transition to Senior High School.
The initiative was met with heartfelt gratitude from both the students and their parents.
“I am so happy and thankful to Hon. Samuel Darkwa,” said Beauty Yayra Ampoti, one of the beneficiaries and the overall best student from the electoral area. “My parents were worried about getting certain items for me, but now that burden is gone. This motivates me to study even harder in SHS.”
Beauty also encouraged her colleagues in basic schools to study diligently and aim for even better grades.
A parent, Mrs. Edith Mante, also shared her appreciation:
“This is what true leadership is about. He has not only supported our children but also relieved us, the parents. We pray that other leaders will emulate this wonderful example.”
Hon. Darkwa pledged to continue supporting education in the community and promised additional cash rewards for any student who achieves a single-digit aggregate in the upcoming BECE results.
The event was chaired by the Presiding Member of the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alfred Ofosu Donkor, who commended Hon. Darkwa for his visionary leadership and urged other well-meaning individuals to contribute to educational development in the municipality.
Other dignitaries present included Hon. Albert Yeboah Asiedu, Hon. John Ankomah Damoah, Hon. Kofi Ansah, and members of the Unit Committee.
The ceremony concluded with renewed hope and a shared commitment to fostering academic excellence within the Creeki Electoral Area.
