If you’re looking for someone without credibility in Ghana now, the Health Minister Akandoh is number on the list – Dr Kwasi Kyei
Kwasi Kyei, the NPP Communications Director in Ashanti Region, launched a blistering attack on Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh. According to Kyei,
Speaking on Kessben TV Dr Kwasi said “if you’re looking for someone without credibility in Ghana, the Health Minister Akandoh is number one on the list. All he does is lie around.”
He further claimed that it was the erstwhile NPP government that made concrete arrangements to pay nurses their outstanding arrears, but these efforts have allegedly not been continued by the current NDC administration.
Kyei’s attack comes amid growing public frustration over delayed salary and allowance payments to nurses, midwives, and other health sector workers. The Health Ministry has recently announced that 13,500 nurses have been integrated onto the government payroll and that arrears of nursing trainee allowances have been settled.
Nonetheless, opposition voices are not letting up. The Minority in Parliament has accused Akandoh of misleading health professionals over claims about financial clearance for recruitment and arrear payments.
