NACOC Strikes Drug Dens in Otinibi, Greater Accra Region

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has carried out a successful raid in Otinibi, a suburb in the Greater Accra Region, targeting suspected drug dens and criminal hideouts. The operation, which took place in the early hours of the day, led to the arrest of four individuals believed to be involved in drug trafficking and related illegal activities. The area was reportedly known for a mixture of brothels and drug dealings, which had raised concerns among residents and local authorities.

During the operation, NACOC officers retrieved significant quantities of illegal substances, including 2 kilograms of cannabis and 1 kilogram each of hashish, GH Gold, and amnesia — substances known to be widely abused in the region. The seized drugs will be sent for further forensic analysis as investigations continue to determine the full extent of the criminal network operating in the area.
Leadership of NACOC has stated that the raid is part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and substance abuse in communities across the country. He added that intelligence-led operations will be intensified in other hotspots, and urged the public to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities. The four suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court after initial investigations are completed.
