Former presidential advisor for the previous Akufo-Addo government, Dr Nisah Asare has said that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the party’s best bet to lead into the next general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM with Wofa Kofi Appiah, he emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s political consistency, political maturity, and broad public appeal make him the strongest candidate among all the flagbearer aspirants.
According to Dr Nsiah Asare, Dr. Bawumia has proven himself over the years by staying true to the NPP’s core values and showing unwavering loyalty to the party, both in government and opposition.
He also highlighted Bawumia’s marketability, noting that the Vvice presidenthas become a household name across the country. “When it comes to visibility and public engagement, Dr. Bawumia is ahead of the rest. He connects with both the grassroots and the technocrats. That balance is rare,” he said.
The endorsement adds to the ongoing discussions within the NPP as the party gears up to elect a flagbearer for the upcoming elections.
While several prominent figures are in the race, Dr. Bawumia’s supporters believe his track record in digital transformation, economic management, and party loyalty gives him a significant edge.
As the internal contest intensifies, such public endorsements are expected to shape the direction of the campaign and influence undecided delegates ahead of the primaries.
