The arrogance was too much, There was a minister I called and sent him messages for the 8 years, but he didnt reply – Kwadwo Nsafoa Poku on why Ghanaians booted out NPP

A senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Nsafoa Poku has broken ranks with party silence, offering a brutally honest reflection on why many Ghanaians rejected the NPP in the last general elections.

This rare admission sheds light on the growing internal frustrations within the NPP after the party’s electoral defeat, and highlights a critical reason many believe contributed to the erosion of public trust: disconnected leadership.

“The arrogance was too much. There was a minister I called and sent him messages for the 8 years, but he didn’t reply.” He said on Amansan Tie with KOD.

Throughout its time in government, the NPP was frequently accused of growing distant from the ordinary Ghanaian. From unmet expectations to tone-deaf communication, the ruling party was seen by critics and even some supporters as increasingly dismissive, particularly during its second term.

Ministers and appointees, according to the NPP member, became inaccessible, ignoring calls and messages not just from the public but even from party loyalists.
