If someone’s progress hurts you, your mind is enslaved in a prison, You need deliverance – Rev Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam)

Speaking on the popular dawn’s show, Rev. Kankam addressed the subtle but destructive nature of envy and bitterness, especially in an era where social media often highlights the success of others.

Rev. Kankam explained that envy, when left unchecked, is a form of mental and emotional bondage. “The moment you feel pain at someone else’s blessing, success, or elevation, you are not just dealing with a bad attitude,  you are bound. You are in a prison of your own making,” he stated.

According to him, this prison manifests in ways many fail to recognize: gossip, sabotage, passive aggression, and sometimes even self-hate. “People don’t realize that hating another person’s progress doesn’t hurt that person, it only deepens your own suffering.”

He encouraged listeners to assess their hearts honestly by asking themselves, noting that Why does people’s success disturb you?” Why can’t you be happy for them, as yours will also be in line.
