Helicopter crash investigation will be transparent, no cover-up – Deputy Minister of Defence, Brogya Genfi

The Ministry of Defence has promised in-depth inquiries into the Wednesday, August 6, 2025, helicopter crash in Adansi Akfrofoum, Ashanti Region, which killed eight people, including Defense Minister Dr. Omane Boamah.

Speaking to a group of chiefs in Accra today, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the Deputy Minister of Defense, Mr. Brogya Genfi, declared that the Ghana Armed Forces hierarchy has begun looking into the incident and has asked for international cooperation to guarantee a transparent procedure.

“We also want to assure you that the Ghana Armed Forces has already begun investigations into the incident. We requested an international collaboration, and we have received a positive response in that regard.

We want to assure our chiefs that nothing will be covered, it will be transparent, and the Ghanaian public will know exactly what happened and the cause of this tragic accident,” the Deputy Minister of Defence reiterated.

“Galamsey is what has caused their lives. If you cannot do anything about this, the police can, once and for all we stop this thing. This country should rise and stop galamsey,” he  said.
