The statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP. Spokesperson to the President, Minister, Government Communications on Sunday, 27th July,2025 announced a comprehensive strategy to restore stability and protect citizens.

“The Ghana armed forces have been deployed to maintain law and order,” the government spokesperson stated. “We will take all necessary measures to protect lives and property.”

According to the statement, the intervention comes after recent violent incidents threatened to derail ongoing peace negotiations.

The government praised the mediation efforts of His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II , noting that previous diplomatic attempts had nearly resolved the conflict.

“The Otumfour mediation, with the genuine help of Nayiri and Zugraana had almost brought finality to the conflict,” the statement explained. “However, recent killings have necessitated more drastic action to protect the greater good.”

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but the government remains committed to restoring peace and stability in Bawku and other affected areas.” According to the statement.

The government has called on all parties to refrain from violence and support the peace process, emphasizing a collective approach to resolving the ongoing conflict.

Residents are advised to remain calm and fully cooperate with the Ghana Armed Forces during this critical period.
