Ghanaian radio personality DJ KA with Kessben Media has held a strong defense for dancehall artist Shatta Wale.
According to DJ KA, Shatta Wale’s frequent verbal attacks on bloggers, radio presenters, and YouTubers are not signs of arrogance or disrespect, but rather, a reflection of his honesty and refusal to play into the fake niceties of the entertainment industry.
“Shatta Wale is not a hypocrite. That’s why he often blasts some of us,” DJ KA boldly stated live on air.
Shatta has made headlines multiple times for openly chastising bloggers and media houses for what he calls “biased and negative coverage.”
DJ KA urged fellow media practitioners to reflect on how they cover public figures, especially artists like Shatta Wale who built their careers largely without mainstream support.
He further argued that rather than labeling the artist as disrespectful, the industry should appreciate his candor.
DJ KA remains firm in his position that you may not like how Shatta Wale talks, but you can’t say he’s fake. He’s one of the realest in this game. And that’s rare.
