No matter how juicy the offers are, Kotoko should not sell Albert Amoah, they should let him play in the Confederation Cup, His value will go up – Obed Owusu

Former Asante Kotoko forward Obed Owusu has issued a strong appeal to his former club, urging them not to part ways with rising star Albert Amoah despite growing transfer interest.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben TV, Owusu insisted that Kotoko must resist any temptation to sell the young midfielder, even if the offer is financially enticing.
According to Owusu, Albert Amoah’s potential has not yet peaked, and the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup presents a golden opportunity for the player to showcase his talent on the continental stage, a move that could significantly boost both his value and Kotoko’s long-term gain.
“No matter how juicy the deal is, Kotoko must hold on to Albert Amoah,” Owusu stated firmly. “Let the boy play in the CAF Confederation Cup first. If he performs well there, his market value will multiply. That’s how clubs grow by being patient and strategic.”
Albert Amoah has been one of the standout performers for Kotoko in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season. His composure, vision, and ability to control games from midfield have drawn attention both locally and abroad. Reports suggest that several clubs have already made inquiries about his availability, with offers rumored to be on the table.
However, Owusu believes Kotoko should focus less on immediate financial gain and more on the long-term benefits of player development.
Asante Kotoko is likely to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup next season. Owusu sees this as the perfect platform to increase the visibility of players like Amoah. He noted that continental competitions offer greater exposure than domestic leagues alone and can dramatically impact a player’s valuation.
