A Mother’s Love Shines Bright: Kasoa Baker Honored as Mirror Model Mother

In a heartwarming celebration of motherhood, Mrs. Grace Antwi Hayford, a dedicated baker from Kasoa, has been honored as the  2025 Mirror Model Mother. The prestigious award, presented by The Mirror in collaboration with Oak Plaza Hotel, recognizes exceptional women who have made a positive impact in their communities and the ward commemorated the 2025 international mothers day which fell on Sunday May 11 .

Mrs. Hayford’s selfless acts have touched the lives of many. As a professional baker, she has been paying school fees for some children and providing training to others. When her husband, a police officer, lost his job, Mrs. Hayford stepped in to support her family, demonstrating remarkable resilience and dedication.

The Mirror’s Editor, Ms. Doreen Hammond, praised Mrs. Hayford’s generosity and willingness to share what she has with her community, saying, “Her generosity and willingness to share what she has with her community are remarkable qualities that make her a role model.”

At the ceremony, Mrs. Hayford expressed her surprise and gratitude, saying, “I was truly surprised because thousands of people had been nominated… I was in shock, I couldn’t sleep that night.” She received wax prints and hampers from sponsors and thanked The Mirror for the recognition.
