Mahama launches Code of Conduct to uphold ethical standards of all government appointees

President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has officially unveiled a comprehensive Code of Conduct as part of efforts to regulate the activities of all appointees and ensure transparency and accountability in government.
According to him, The code of conduct is designed guide appointees’ actions, with the state’s welfare being their top priority.
Speaking during the event held at Jubilee House on 5th May, 2025, President Mahama said the code represents a bold declaration of the standards they must uphold as servants of the public.
He also echoed that it reflects the NDC administration’s commitment to build a government that is ethical, responsive and worthy of the people’s trust.
“This code represents a bold declaration of the standards we must uphold as servants of the public. Let me be clear this document is not a ceremonial one, It is a living and an enforceable framework that outlines what is expected of every individual appointed under this administration” He explained.
Mr. Mahama noted that, this conducts applies broadly to ministers, deputy ministers as well to presidential staffers, to chief executive officers and their deputies, to members of the Council of State, to board members and other political appointees within the executive arm of government.
He emphatically stated that everyone including himself, the vice president, the Chief of Staff, the executive secretary, and all advisers will be held to the same standards.
