It is not about politics, but President Mahama’s resetting agenda has affected everything, and it is why the Black Stars are performing well – Football fan

As Ghana celebrates its stunning 3-0 victory over Madagascar in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers, securing the top spot in Group I, the conversation around the Black Stars’ recent performances has sparked some surprising commentary.

According to a passionate football fan from Kumasi, the team’s newfound success is not just about sports, but also linked to President John Dramani Mahama’s “reset agenda,” which he believes has positively impacted the country in a way that extends to football.

In a conversation with local sports Vincent Doku following Ghana’s impressive win over Madagascar on Monday, the Accra-based football fan shared a perspective that caught many off guard. “It is not about politics,” the fan asserted, “but the reset agenda introduced by President Mahama has affected everything, and it is why the Black Stars are performing well.”

The fan went on to explain that, in their view, the positive socio-economic changes attributed to Mahama’s leadership have created an environment in which national sports, particularly football, can thrive. While the statement might seem out of place to some, the fan firmly believed that the broader political landscape and the reforms initiated by the former president have trickled down into various sectors, including sports.

The “reset agenda” referenced by the fan appears to be an acknowledgment of the policies and vision that President John Dramani Mahama promoted during his tenure. Mahama, who served as president from 2012 to 2017, focused on several key areas, including infrastructure development, social policies, and economic improvements aimed at ensuring long-term growth for the country. Though Mahama is no longer in power, some Ghanaians, including this passionate football fan, believe that the effects of his initiatives continue to benefit the country in ways that are often overlooked.

On Monday, Ghana’s Black Stars produced a stellar performance against Madagascar, winning 3-0 and topping the World Cup qualifying group. The victory, coupled with their impressive form in the qualifiers, has reignited excitement about the national team’s prospects in the global competition.
