Pooley’s death will bring a positive change in Ghana football, teams will visit other venues and will not fear because of good security – Karim Zito

Karim Zito, the head coach of Dreams FC, has voiced his thoughts on how Pooley’s death could potentially lead to positive changes in Ghanaian football. While the pain of such a loss is immeasurable, Zito suggests that the aftermath of Pooley’s death could bring a shift in how teams approach security and fan behavior at matches. According to Zito, the tragedy might lead to heightened awareness and accountability when it comes to protecting the safety of all individuals attending football games.

Zito believes that one of the major positive outcomes could be improved security across all football venues in Ghana. “Pooley’s tragic death should serve as a wake-up call to all stakeholders, especially when it comes to securing the safety of supporters,” Zito stated. “With better safety protocols in place, the fear that fans may have when traveling to away venues will be reduced. Teams and their supporters will feel more secure, and this, in turn, could help improve the overall football environment.”

For years, safety has been a concern in various sporting arenas across the globe, and Ghana is no exception. While the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and other stakeholders have taken steps to address security issues, the unfortunate incident involving Pooley highlights how much more needs to be done.

Zito speaking on Kessben TV emphasizes that Ghanaian football could witness a substantial positive change if authorities use this tragedy to implement long-term safety measures. These measures could include the installation of more security cameras at stadiums, better crowd management systems, and more personnel on the ground to monitor and control fan behavior. Such measures would ensure that supporters can attend matches with a sense of security, regardless of the venue or the competition.

According to Zito, “Football fans should be able to go to any match without fearing for their lives. They should feel safe whether they are at home or away, and this incident could force the relevant authorities to implement the necessary changes.”
