Youth Employment Rights Under Attack: I’ll Defend Them Pro Bono – Clement Opoku Gyamfi

A shocking directive from Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, has sparked outrage and prompted a fierce legal battle. The directive, which orders the annulment of all appointments made after December 7, 2024, has been deemed unconstitutional and a blatant overreach of executive power.

Clement Opoku Gyamfi, a Ghanaian politician and District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South, has publicly denounced the directive and pledged his support for a legal challenge. Gyamfi’s brother, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Esq. (MP), has already expressed his intent to take the matter to court.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in Donkor v. Attorney General (2019) clearly states that public officers appointed under Article 195 cannot be dismissed without just cause. Gyamfi argues that the mass-annulment of appointments is not only unconstitutional but also a direct attack on youth employment and job security.

As a strong advocate for justice and the rule of law, Gyamfi has offered to take on the case pro bono, defending the rights and livelihoods of young Ghanaians affected by the directive. “Ghana’s young workforce deserves fair treatment, job stability, and respect for their constitutional rights,” Gyamfi emphasizes.

This legal battle is not just about upholding constitutional principles but also about protecting the future of Ghana’s youth. As Gyamfi rallies support for the cause, he urges citizens to join the fight for justice, job security, and the rule of law.
