I’ll use social media to promote development – Ashanti Regional minister nominee
Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, has pledged to use his active social media presence to interact with the local populace and advance good administration.
The nominee was questioned about his online presence and its impact if he were approved to serve as Minister during his vetting on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Mr. Amoakohene emphasized in his response the value of using his active social media presence to promote development and youth involvement in the region’s advancement.
He claims that the platform serves as a means of communication with the region’s young and has developed over time as a model for community participation.
“In times past, when I was young, my father would send me to the community center, where they go to play, ‘Ludo’, ‘Dame’ among others. In recent times, those centers do not exist. There’s a new society known as social media, where we get the opportunity to share ideas and also to interact.
“I want to assure the house that I’m not going to overly rely on social media. However, the platforms will be available so that the youth who would want to reach me can still send a message, and there will be a team there who will look at the messages and draw my attention, in order that I will be able to assist them when need be,” he said.
