Restoring Peace in Bawku: President Mahama’s Key Appointments This Week

President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has announced that, the base on current circumstances in Bawku and enclaves, the new NDC government is putting in place the various appointments within this week so that the country can have Ministers and other officials responsible for the security to take charge.
Addressing the people of Bawku, determined to resolve the decades-old conflict , revolves around the occupancy of the Bawku skin, which represents chiefly authority in the Bawku traditional area, President Mahama assured make any appointment of Minister of Defence, Interior, the National Security Advisor, the National Security Coordinator ,BNI Director amongst of other within this week.
He emphasised, when those appointments are made, he’s going to charge them to make Bawku one of the number one priorities for peace .
Background
During my campaign journey in 2024, I mentioned that, if God granted this desire as President of the country, bringing peace to Bawku was going to be one of my number one priorities. I decided to visit Bawku today and assure my administration is going work very hard to make sure peace is brought back to Bawku.” President Mahama.
“ Remember when i was President of Ghana, Bawku and surrounding areas were very peaceful and work was going on, people where going about their duties, which is sad that today, this situation occurred again.” President said.
He added, for the past 3 years ,people of Bawku have not been able to sleep, people has been leaving under stress. Stated, NDC is bringing peace to Bawku so everyone can go about their normal duties without fear of harassment.
“I appealed to the people of Bawku to exercise patients, exercise restraints, promised to deal with issues, stated he has trust in himself as President and his administration that by the Grace of God, permanent peace is going to come back to Bawku and enclaves.” He urged.
