Team Saglemi Not for Sale: A Call to Action for President Mahama’s Appointees

A press statement issued by Team Saglemi Not for Sale, convened by Nana Otu Darko, has emphasized the need for President Mahama’s appointees to demonstrate humility, competence, and selflessness in their roles.

The statement highlights President Mahama’s vision to build a nation of pride, full of endless opportunities for all, and stresses that this vision starts with the appointments of willing, competent, and solution-oriented selfless patriots.

Team Saglemi Not for Sale cautions prospective appointees, including MMDCEs, CEOs, and board members, to undergo introspection before accepting or assuming official roles in government. The group vows to hold appointees accountable for their actions, warning that those with ill intentions to steal or sabotage the government will face consequences.

The statement also commends President Mahama’s commitment to building a better Ghana and urges all appointees to work towards achieving this goal.

In a related development, Team Saglemi Not for Sale has been vocal about its opposition to the sale of the Saglemi housing project to a private developer. The group argues that the project, initiated in 2012, should be completed and made available to Ghanaians rather than being sold off .

As the Mahama-led government continues to take shape, Team Saglemi Not for Sale’s statement serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability, transparency, and selflessness in governance.

PRESS STATEMENT BY TEAM SAGLEMI NOT FOR SALE ON MMDCE, MINISTERIAL, BOARD & CEO APPOINTMENTS

………………………………………………

1. President Mahama wields an unwavering penchant to build a nation of Pride full of endless opportunity for all. This proud employable nation woven with the spirit of service and character of righteousness starts with the appointments of willing, competent, and solution oriented selfless patriots. In their respective hands must be standing solutions to the longstanding societal bottlenecks we have faced in recent history.

2. Ministerial, Boards, MMDCES, CEOS and other government appointees who are fortunate to catch the eye of the president to serve must do so with all humility taking into account the lonely and hopeless path we have travelled politically for the past 8 years before securing the mandate of the Ghanaian people.

3. In view of the above narrative, I respectfully implore every potential and prospective appointee in the appointments value chain to first do introspection of self before accepting or assuming any official role in government because journalists like us with the commited resolve to see to the success of the Mahama led government SHALL not renerge on our gate keepership role. I in particular refuse to be loud in my silence.

4. Be admonished that any government appointee including but not Limited to CEOS and MMDCES with the ill intention to steal or sabotage the Mahama led government will be sacked by us in the media Community even far before the president stroke of a pen hits his sack letter.

5. Prospective MCEs and DCEs especially, who are supposedly agents of development and represesentatives of the president at the nucleaus of governance must therfore be cautioned ahead of schedule even before offering themselves to the high office of such honorable portfolios.

I REST MY CASE…

Kind Regards,
Nana Otu Darko
