NPP’s Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku Reflects on 2024, Offers New Year Message
As Christians gather for crossover services this evening, Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has shared his reflections on the past year and offered a message of hope for the future.
Poku, who was part of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to traverse the country, meet new people, and sell the message of hope. Although the election results did not favor the NPP, Poku acknowledged the verdict of the Ghanaian people and called for restructuring and unity within the party.
“The election of the seven did not go as we wished,” Poku said. “But we will not be deterred. We will come together as patriots, the good sons and daughters of the strong elephant, and restructure our party to make it the symbol of hope for Ghanaians once again.”
Poku also touched on the NDC’s campaign promises, including increasing cocoa prices from 3100 to 6500 Ghana cedis per bag. He expressed hope that these promises would be fulfilled, benefiting cocoa farmers across the country.
As the NDC prepares to take the reins of government, Poku cautioned that the NPP would be watching closely, particularly in the energy sector. “We will stay on point, stay on focus, and checkmate the NDC whenever they want to throw propaganda in,” he said.
In conclusion, Poku wished all Ghanaians a happy new year, praying for good health, longevity, and the opportunity to participate in the democratic process for years to come. “We hope to be alive in the coming years to be able to participate in this wonderful exercise that we call democracy,” he said. “I wish you all a happy 2025.”
