Anti-Corruption Drive: EHCM Commends President-Elect John Dramani Mahama
The Election Has Consequences Movement (EHCM) has commended President-Elect John Dramani Mahama for setting up a preparatory team to gather information on suspected acts of corruption. This move is in line with Mahama’s promise to recover proceeds of corruption and hold those responsible accountable when he assumes office.
EHCM praised the President-Elect’s bold step, emphasizing that it’s a significant move towards tackling corruption in the country. The movement expressed confidence that this initiative will be a success, given the President-Elect’s commitment to fighting corruption.
To facilitate the team’s work, EHCM suggested establishing real-time channels of communication between the team and the public. These channels could include dedicated telephone lines, WhatsApp numbers, and other platforms to ensure the free flow of information from the public.
EHCM’s Press Secretary, Erickson Ashiara, emphasized the importance of safe and reliable means of divulging information to the team. He expressed confidence that the President-Elect’s initiative will yield positive results and contribute to a corruption-free Ghana.
The EHCM’s statement comes as a welcome development in Ghana’s fight against corruption. As the country prepares for a new administration, this move sends a strong signal that corruption will not be tolerated.
