‘People have been chopping our taxes for a long, I support NDC’s ORAL – Operation Recover All Loot by President-Elect John Mahama’ – Sports Journalist, Dr Franko Owusu Ansah

Dr Frank Owusu Ansah recently expressed his full support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its bold proposal dubbed ORAL – Operation Recover All Loot.

This initiative, which was championed by President-elect John Mahama, aims to recover looted state funds and hold individuals accountable for the mismanagement of the country’s resources.

According to Dr Ansah, the core issue at hand is the widespread misappropriation of taxpayer money. In his comments, the sports journalist emphasized how Ghanaian taxpayers have long been burdened with high taxes, only to find that much of their hard-earned money is not being used for the country’s development. Instead, it is often siphoned off through corrupt practices, leaving the majority of citizens to bear the brunt of the financial mismanagement.

“People have been chopping our taxes for long,” Ansah remarked in a passionate tone on Kessben Sports. By “chopping,” he alluded to the systemic abuse of state resources, where individuals in positions of power have allegedly diverted public funds for personal gain, while the average Ghanaian struggles under the weight of rising taxes and economic hardship.

The frustrations voiced by Ansah reflect a growing sentiment among many citizens who feel that their contributions to the country’s economy are not being used effectively. Rather than funding infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors, public money is often wasted or stolen, undermining national development.

In response to the pervasive issue of corruption, President-elect John Mahama and the NDC have proposed the ORAL initiative, which seeks to recover the assets looted from the state over the years. The operation is designed to track down individuals who have unlawfully enriched themselves at the expense of the people and return those funds to the public coffers.

Franko Owusu Ansah has openly endorsed this plan, emphasizing that it represents a much-needed shift in the country’s approach to handling corruption. He sees ORAL as a critical tool in the fight for justice, fairness, and accountability, believing that it will help restore trust in government institutions and demonstrate a commitment to prioritizing the needs of the people over the interests of the few.
