Just In: Nurudeen Amadu reportedly resigns as FC Samartex coach

The head coach of FC Samartex, Nurudeen Amadu, has reportedly resigned.

Amadu reportedly left on “mutual consent” after just 13 games of the 2023–2024 Ghana Premier League season.

Following a 2-0 loss to rivals Bibiani GoldStars SC, the reigning champions have lost three straight top-flight games and are eliminated from the MTN FA Cup.

With 17 points, the Timber Giants are ranked 10th in the league.

In their upcoming match, FC Samartex travels to play Bechem United.

Henry Wellington, the assistant coach, will serve as interim manager until a permanent replacement is found.

Amadu joined the team in July 2023, and last season he helped them win their first Premier League championship.

They advanced to the preliminary phase of the CAF Champions League thanks to the achievement, but Raja Casablanca defeated them in the second round.
