Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen to rebrand operations
The Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen is working fervently to rebrand it’s activities and operations since it plays a significant role in the agriculture sector from November, 1992.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mr. Bismark Doku Nettey, a founding member of the Association disclosed that the Association turned 32 years on 11th November, 2024 hence the Association is injecting new initiatives and programmes to run its activities.
According to him, the rebranding seeks to leverage the Association which ties into the provisions in the GNAFF constitution and by laws and explained that the National Executive Committee members whose tenure have expired has challenged the association to institute a committee to prepare fresh elections at the district, regional and national level.
In this regard other Founding members including Joseph Kwesi Odjeyem, Torgbui Emmanuel Tetteh-
Danyo, Mr. Mohammed Obey and myself have appointed Mr Francis Opai Tetteh, the Country Director for the Conference of Mayors, Ghana as GNAFF Consultant to reorganise, rebuild, reposition the operations of the Association.
Giving the academic background of Mr. Francis Tetteh, Mr. Nettey said he has a Bsc in Agri business Management Economics from Central University of Ghana and Master of Philosophy in Migration Studies from the university of Ghana respectively, saying his appointment and have witnessed tremendous results and therefore called on members at the district, regional and national level to work in collaboration with him.
He used the occasion to warn some former members of GNAFF and other officers who are engaging in illegal correspondences of the association and using its hard earned reputation for personal gains adding that the association will not hesitate to seek legal redress on the issue.
“The Association however congratulated all stakeholders in the farming value chain for their immense contribution towards the growth and development of the economy during this year’s farmers day celebration,” he added.
