Royal Ladies Donate GH¢100,000 and Supplies to Korle-Bu Childhood Cancer Unit
In a remarkable act of compassion, the Royal Ladies, the women’s wing of the Royal House Chapel, have donated GH¢100,000 and essential supplies worth millions of cedis to the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The donation marks the group’s 30th anniversary and reflects their commitment to supporting childhood cancer patients as part of their annual social intervention initiatives.
Led by Reverend Mrs. Rita Korankye Ankrah, wife of Apostle Samuel Korankye Ankrah, the Royal Ladies presented a cheque of GH¢100,000 to the unit, which serves children battling cancer. Mrs. Korankye Ankrah emphasized that this year’s project focuses on aiding children with cancer who struggle to afford treatment.
“Every year, we give back to society,” Mrs. Korankye Ankrah said, recalling past initiatives such as supporting mothers unable to pay medical bills in maternity homes. This year, the Royal Ladies turned their attention to childhood cancer, learning that the recovery rate for children could reach nearly 100% with adequate support.
Mrs. Korankye Ankrah expressed hope that the donation would not only fund treatment but also bring joy and hope to the children and their families. She pledged to continue partnering with Korle-Bu, saying, “This is not going to be the last time. We are committed to bringing hope to these children.”
The Royal Ladies have a history of impactful social programs, including providing soft loans, training, and empowerment for underprivileged women, teaching skills such as soap making, basket weaving, and more.
Mrs. Korankye Ankrah concluded by expressing her gratitude and praying for resources to continue the initiative annually, reflecting the group’s dedication to transforming lives and uplifting the community.
