The Players are new, Kotoko should return to Baba Yara Stadium to get used to the standard & the atmosphere of Baba Yara – Shilla Alhassan
Former Asante Kotoko striker Shilla Alhassan emphasized the importance of the club returning to their historic home ground, Baba Yara Stadium, for their home games following the completion of the maintenance work at the Baba Yara stadium.
Asante Kotoko chose to play their home games at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium following close down of the Baba Yara Stadium for maintenance.
Baba Yara Stadium, located in Kumasi, has long been the fortress for Kotoko, providing a vibrant atmosphere that is critical for the players’ morale and performance in the history of Asante Kotoko.
Alhassan stressed that returning to Baba Yara Stadium would not only bolster the team’s confidence but also help them to better understand the intricacies of playing in their own backyard and getting used to the Baba Yara standards
Speaking on Kessben TV with Tony Muntana Shilla underscores that the team is made up of entirely new players and if Kotoko qualifies for the African Champions League or the CAF Confederation Cup, they will be playing at the Baba Yara stadium, therefore, they should return to Kumasi and get used to the standard at Baba Yara.
Shilla Alhassan’s call for Asante Kotoko to return to Baba Yara Stadium resonates with some of the fans and stakeholders, however, a majority section of the fans and stakeholders of the team also reckon Kotoko should finish the 2024/25 season at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.
