NPP Government Boosts TVET Education with Industry-Driven Curriculum

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced a significant milestone in the party’s efforts to enhance Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana.

Speaking at a roundtable discussion with business, education, energy, and technology leaders of the Greater Memphis Chamber in the United States, Dr. Prempeh revealed that the government has collaborated with top industry players to develop a skills training curriculum tailored to TVET students.

This move aims to equip Ghanaian youth with market-driven skills, bridging the gap between education and industry needs.

Remarkably, students as young as basic four have begun learning coding and other ICT skills, previously unfamiliar in Ghana’s education sector.

The NPP government has invested heavily in TVET, retooling institutions and developing suitable curricula.

Dr. Prempeh emphasized that the next NPP government, led by Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, will continue to prioritize education, particularly TVET, to provide 21st-century skills to youth. The NPP’s commitment to TVET education is expected to have a lasting impact on Ghana’s workforce and economic development.
