Power and Energy Ghana Expo launched over 100 exhibitors and 4000 visitors expected

As part of the drive to address the power and energy supplies demand in the country and beyond, 3rd edition of the Power Energy Ghana Expo has been launched in Accra.

The 3 day event will commence from 6th to 8th November 2024 under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy with support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Key participants include Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, Ghana Electrical Association, Ghana Union of Traders Association , Africa Continental Engineering and Construction Network, Energy Chamber of Ghana, Ghana Chamber of Construction Industries.

The rest are Ghana Energy Commission, Ghana Standards Authority, and CCI France Ghana, among others.

The Expo, organised by BIG4SURE events, seeks to bring together over 100 exhibitors in the energy and power space to network and discuss renewable energy and

other emerging trends in the power sector, notably among foreign exhibitors, include France, Spain, India, China, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Nigeria, with close to 4000 visitors to attend.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Thomas James, Project Director, Power and Energy Ghana Expo, said the event will support Ghana to attract investors in the energy space and will also scale up the energy and power demand of the country.

He used the occasion to urge local exhibitors to engage foreign companies and form networks joint venture to explore business opportunities to support the growth of the Ghanaian economy.

The Project Director, however, challenged participants to take advantage of the Expo to enable them to be abreast with new Innovations in the energy and power sector and apply international best practices in their respective businesses.

Administrative Secretary for Energy Chamber of Ghana, Madam Afia Saa- Bour Boakye urged the government to embark on solar energy projects across the country, saying it is the surest way to support the country’s energy demand.

For his part, the President of GUTA, Dr. Joseph Obeng commended the organises of the Expo, adding that energy drives the economy of every country and urged participants to explore the essential business benefits of renewable energy.
