13 persons passed away in fatal @ccIc3nt on Kumasi-Obuasi Highway

A VIP bus headed from Kumasi to Enchi in the Western North Region tragically drove off the road and crashed into a ditch close to Kwapia, close to Obuasi, around daybreak on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Thirteen persons, including five women, seven men, and a kid, who were all passengers on the bus, died in the event, according to police sources.

All but one of the dead passengers reportedly passed away at the scene right away.

After being taken to the hospital, the driver, Osei Adu, passed away from his wounds not long after arriving

As families grieve the loss of their loved ones, the accident has shocked the neighborhood.

Witnesses said that when the bus, registered ER 2445-11, picked up a number of stranded individuals from another bus that had broken down on the route, it became overloaded.
