Wisconsin International University College Ghana Hosts All Africa Conference of Churches on Transformation Leadership
Wisconsin International University College,Ghana in collaboration with the All Africa Conference of Churches ( AACC) has held a Ecclesia Ethical leadership capacity strengthening courses from the 1st to 3rd October, 2024 in Accra.
The 3 day conference brought together representatives of clergies from various churches locally and internationally to discuss and deliberate on issues on capacity building of leaders and ethics in their respective fields of endeavours and jurisdictions.
The churches includes orthodox, Pentecostal, Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, Charismatic among others
Participants were taken through topics such as Diakonia: Bible and Theological Basis, Strategic Management and Planning, Ethical investment for sustainability, Human Resource Management, Basics of Financial Management.
The rest were , Tranformative Leadership, Experience as church leader, entrepreneurial and counselling,
the church as a business or the church and entrepreneurship, organizational behavior and management role of the church in public finance governance, confronting corruption canon, creation care and Echo Justice and church assets management.
Speaking at the event presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana Most Rev. Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo said the All Africa Conference of Churches represents over 200 million Africa Christians in 2010 National churches and Regional Christian councils in 43 African countries.
He said the primary objective of AACC is to bring to bear an understanding of the Christian Faith interpret and responding to challenges to a human dignity and demonstrates the message of God to humanity
“The program creates a unique platform for the clergy to address emerging trends in church operations and management as well as measures to put in place in addressing challenges in churches and to ensure that leaders in churches apply the requisite ethics in the administration of the churches”, he said.
He used the occasion to edge government and political leaders to work towards a peaceful free and fair elections in the upcoming 2024 general elections and called on the youth to refrain from election violence, adding that Ghanaians must continue to tolerate each other and live in peace
For his part Rev. Dr. Lesmore Gibson Exekiel the Director of programs for All African Conference of Churches said leaders must account for their stewardship after giving the mandate to serve the people and explain however that good ethics and sound principles must be exhibited by leaders in the governance structure of countries.
