Tap into business opportunities on social media – Students of Wisconsin University urged

As part of the effort to empower students to take up the challenge to use social media to promote their respective businesses globally, a Seasoned Motivational Speaker, Dr. Lorna Owens has had a business encounter with students of the Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, in Accra.

Speaking on the theme, ” The Power of one, learn to position yourself and your business globally”, she in this regard urged students to explore the numerous business opportunities on social media to enable them unleash their business

potentials and skills in the global business space.

She however entreated students who have the desire to venture into global businesses to initiate strategies of international best practices and fervently work towards their vision adding that the gesture will enable them discover the opportunities in the business world.

Dr Lorna Owens who doubles as the Founder, Footprint Foundation said students who wants to make an impact that global business level should develop a website and use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter among others in a bid to advertise their products and services.

According to her, students must be

abreast with the emerging business trends on social media and remain focused on positioning themselves adequately to enable them to have a competitive advantage over other similar businesses

Turning the spotlight on financial startups, she explained that students must be guided by the principles of financial obligations and added that setting up a business on social media does not necessarily require huge sum of money but adopt the right business mindset as the business grows gradually till you reap the essential financial benefits.

The President of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Professor Obeng Mireku, reminded students of the risks involved in business and cautioned them not to go in for a quick turnover but

cultivate the culture of reinvesting.

He therefore thanked Dr. Owens for the thought-provoking encounter saying it will create a platform for students to tap into the business opportunities on social media.
