NDC constituency chairman, two others picked by police for disrupting DRIP commissioning
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals and launched a manhunt for others involved in a violent disturbance that left one person injured in Apam, Central Region, on September 16, 2024.
The arrested suspects, identified as Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, the Gomoa West constituency Chairman of the NDC, Stephen Cobbinah (alias Bonjour), and Joseph Mensah (alias Kofi Kokor), along with others, allegedly armed themselves with offensive weapons and disrupted a commissioning ceremony for the District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) in Apam, leading to the outbreak of violence.
Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, Stephen Cobbinah, and Joseph Mensah are currently in police custody and are set to be arraigned in court to face charges.
The police are actively pursuing the remaining suspects to bring them to justice.
