Five Firms Bid to Complete Saglemi Housing Project

The Ministry of Works and Housing has announced a significant milestone in the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project, with five private entities submitting bids to partner with the government to complete the 1,506 housing units. This development follows an initial expression of interest from 10 organizations, demonstrating the private sector’s enthusiasm for the project.

The bids, submitted to the Technical Working Group on July 8th, 2024, will undergo evaluation by an independent entity, appointed by the Ministry. The evaluation report and all bids received will be published in accordance with the Right to Information Act, ensuring transparency throughout the process.

Once completed, the Saglemi Housing Project will provide much-needed affordable housing units for Ghanaians, contributing to bridging the country’s housing deficit. The Ministry aims to complete the selection and contracting process by August 30th, 2024.

Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister for Works and Housing, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made and reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability. The successful completion of the project will not only provide affordable housing but also demonstrate the government’s ability to collaborate with the private sector to deliver vital infrastructure projects.

The Saglemi Housing Project is a testament to the government’s dedication to addressing the country’s housing challenges. With the support of the private sector, Ghana is poised to make significant strides in bridging the housing deficit and providing affordable housing for its citizens.
