Baba Yara Stadium closed down, Kotoko to play home game at Dr Kwame Kyei Complex – Details

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium, which is the home field of the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and one of Ghana’s two FIFA-approved football venues, would be unavailable to the Porcupines until after June 10.

The venue has been closed for renovations in advance of Ghana’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter versus the Central African Republic.

This suggests that Kotoko’s final-season encounter against relegation-bound Bofoakwa Tano will be their next chance to take the field.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) made this announcement in a press statement on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, three days prior to the Black stars’ start of training for the qualification.

Accra Great Olympics vs. Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 will now take place on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
