Osei Kwame Jnr calls for salary reduction of Kotoko players, says they’re not serious
Former Kotoko left back Osei Kwame Jnr has called on the managment of Asante Kotoko to slash salaries of unserious players at the club.
Osei Kwame Jnr speaking on Kessben TV’s Extra Times sports stressed that the current crop of players at the club do not know the value of the club they are playing for.
He stressed that with current woes of the club, one cannot blame the technical team alone and leave out the players.
“You can’t blame the Coach alone. The players should ask themselves whether they are happy with their output. Saw how Sarfo Gyamfi came and played, Saw the likes of Micheal Osei Ember, Saw How the Arhin Duah’s and came and played?
What achievement will these players leave behind and what will they be remembered for in future? Kotoko is not a small club. It’s the Real Madrid of Ghana Football. The players should be very very careful. They are not serious.
The management should slash their salaries. I’m told the lowest-earning player now in the team takes GHC2000 a month.
We cannot afford to lose the game against Samartex on Sunday. Calling for the sack of the coach, they should know that if the coach leaves now, most of them will also leave at the end of the season. No one will maintain them. It’s time to buy quality for the club” He said.
