It’s not always about the Davido’s & the Burna Boy’s, Tyla deserves it more – Mr Bonez

Head of Entertainment and events at Kessben Media, Nana Osei Kesse widely known Mr Bonez has said that the Recording Academy (Grammys) was spot to have awarded the ‘Water’ hitmaker Tyla the Best African Music Performance award.

The South African bagged the Best African Music Performance award at the 66th annual Grammy Awards ceremony which took place in Los Angeles.

Tyla beat Nigeria’s Davido, Ayra Starr, ASAKE, and Burna Boy to pick up her first Grammy.

The Johannesburg native won the award for her Amapiano and R&B-inspired song “Water,” which gained global popularity thanks in part to its virality on social media.

Mr. Bonez reacting to the much talked about Awards stressed on Kessben TV’s Music Plus show that it was the right call from the Grammys to have awarded the South African ahead of the top guys in Africa.

He noted that it is not always about having a big name but importantly looking at the year under review and your quality of work and how impactful it was.
