We don’t have a striker, Do you think Kashala was good when playing? – Hearts of Oak coach Koopman
Following Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Dreams FC in the local top division, Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman said the Ghanaian giants have “no striker” and launched an astonishing rant directed at his players.
To put pressure on the Dutchman, the Phobians drew a blank against the CAF Confederation Cup contenders at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts have had a disastrous start to the 2023–23 Ghana Premier League season, winning just once, drawing once, and losing twice.
The failure of his team to defeat the Dawu-based team at home left the Dutchman angry and disillusioned.
And he took a jab at his own players, saying that despite having Congolese attacker Ramos Kashala on the roster, the squad lacks a striker.
“We have no striker. I tell you again, we’ve got no striker. Issah [Kuka] has gone abroad, so we have no striker. I tell them every time.
“Do you think Kashala was good when playing? No, he was not good. Hamza Issah is young; he is a fighter, and that was the next option.”He said after the game.
