GHC800 to GHC1,308: Cocoa farmers excited about the increment in the price of cocoa
Ghana cocoa farmers have expressed their excitement about the increment in the price of cocoa since they deem it a great opportunity for them to expand their cocoa business to make more profit.
In an interview with the national best cocoa farmer, Charles Gyamfi during the Kessben maakye show on September 11, 2023, he expressed his excitement about the new price of cocoa that has been increased by the government.
On Saturday, September 9, 2023, President Akuffo Addo in his statement announced the increased cocoa price per bag from GHC800 to GHC1,308 while addressing cocoa farmers at the opening of the 2023/2024 cocoa season at Tepa in the Ashanti region.
The award-winning cocoa farmer Charles Gyamfi during his interview on the Kessben Maakye show also elaborated on the point that cocoa farming is a good business that a lot of people should be interested in venturing into.
This new price is expected to take effect in the upcoming crop year therefore the president encouraged citizens to consume more of the locally made cocoa products to help boost cocoa products.
