Burna Boy secures 7 nominations in 2023 Bet Hip Hop Awards

Popular Nigerian afrobeat musician, Damini Ogulu known as Burna Boy has seven nominations in the 2023 BET Awards.
Burna Boy is up for one of the biggest awards of the night ‘HIP-HOP ARTIST OF THE YEAR’. He’s up for the award along with Cardi B, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Glorilla, and 21 Savage.
Burna Boy’s hip hop track ’SITTIN’ ON TOP OF THE WORLD’ with 21 Savage got nods in three categories.
His new album ‘I TOLD THEM’ has been nominated for ‘SONG OF THE YEAR’.
SITTIN’ ON TOP OF THE WORLD’ is also up for ‘BEST COLLABORATION’ alongside Lil Durk , DJ Khaled and J.Cole, Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Glorilla, Coi Leray and Busta Rymes and Latto and Cardi B.
Burna Boy, is in the running for ‘BEST LIVE PERFORMER’ He’s up against Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Larmar, Dababy, Coi Leray and others.
He’s secured a nomination in the ‘HUSTLER OF THE YEAR’ category alongside Drake, Cardi B, Jay Z, DJ Khaled, and 50 Cent.
His song also scored Best ‘HIP-HOP VIDEO’ nomination. The competitors are Lil Uzi Vert, Glorilla, Dababy and Drake.
Lastly, he’s also a contender for the year ‘LYRICIST OF THE YEAR’. He’s up for the award against Drake, J.Cole, 21 Savage, Kendrick Larmar, Conway The Machine, Cardi B and Andre 3000.
The leading nominees are Cardi B and 21 Savage in the 2023 BET HIP HOP AWARDS with 12 nods each.
The show will be taped on Tuesday, October 3, in Atlanta and premiered on BET 9th October at 10 pm.
