YEA Has Created 25,000 Direct and 60,000 Indirect Jobs to Help Fight Unemployment – CEO
The CEO of Youth Employment Agency Kofi Baah Agyepong has said that the issue of unemployment in the country is worrisome.
During the official launch of the training and Employment of insurance agents nationwide at the college of physicians and surgeon auditorium, Accra, he disclosed that, the government through the Youth Employment Agency has created almost 25, 000 direct jobs and 60,000 indirect jobs for the past nine months with verifiable data.
He noted that, under the current management, recruitment of 6,000 community health workers, recruitment of 15, 000 community protection assistants, recruitment of 500 prison assistant, recruitment’s of 800 partisans for the insanity project.
Kofi Baah Agyepong also revealed that 5000 farm workers recruitment for Ghana Cocobod and 6000 more certified insurance will be added.
According to him, as part of an effort to reduce the rising rate of unemployment , the Youth Insurance Project seeks to train and employ at least 6000 youth to serve in various capacities with insurance companies across the country.
He mentioned that this shows the government’s commitment to reducing unemployment in Ghana.
He therefore advised the trainers to take their training seriously and live to expectation in the various insurance companies they will be posted to.
In addition to this, he stated that the government alone can not employ everyone, but partnerships are needed from the private sector and the well meaning of supporting the youth.
